Introduction

Hello, my name is Patrick Wall. When I am not in class or working at the center for online and virtual education here at UCF I enjoy playing and listening to music, playing video games, and relaxing with friends. I currently play drums for a small band. As of now there are only 3 of us including drums, guitar, and keys but we hope to secure a bassist and vocalist as we continue to write new material. As for my college career, I chose to attend UCF because it was close to my family and I knew I had to stay in Florida to get my bright futures scholarship. I did not originally choose IDS as my major. I started out as an aerospace engineer but quickly switched to physics. I spent a few years working on my physics degree when I decided that I was not satisfied with the pure science side of things. I was going to switch back to engineering but was hit with the problem of having to spend an additional 2-3 years here at UCF. Seeing as I was already in debt and did not want to increase my debt by prolonging my graduation I wanted to find an alternative. I found the IDS program and learned that most of my classes would transfer so I would be able to graduate only 1 semester behind the 4 year norm. As far as my plans for the future go I intend to graduate and secure a job as soon as possible. Looking more long term I would love to be able to fufill a life in music. I am currently working with a band and would eventually like to be in a position where I could live off my music and not need a boring day job. Seeing as music is a difficult profession to get into I will at least have my degree to fall back on.
